Chiara’s Crema Pasticcera di Nonna Nonnona (pastry cream)

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 egg yoks
  • ½ liter milk
  • peel of 1 lemon

Instructions

  • In small pot combine flour, sugar, and egg yolks and mix well.
  • Add milk, little by little, mxing with a spoon.
  • Add lemon peel.
  • Cook on medium heat until mixture begins to boil.
  • Once mixture begins to boil, cook 3 more minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cook, stirring occasionally.
