Brown Rice

Equipment

  • 3-quart pot
  • strainer

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • coarse kosher salt

Instructions

  • Rinse rise in strainer under cold water for 30 seconds.
  • Bring 2 quarts water to boil in pot.
  • Add rice and stir once.
  • Boil, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
  • Remove pot from heat.
  • Drain rice in strainer for 10 seconds.
  • Return rice to pot.
  • Cover pot, set aside, and let rice in covered pot for 10 minutes.
  • Remove cover, fluff rice, and add salt to taste.
