Brown Rice
Equipment
- 3-quart pot
- strainer
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown rice
- coarse kosher salt
Instructions
- Rinse rise in strainer under cold water for 30 seconds.
- Bring 2 quarts water to boil in pot.
- Add rice and stir once.
- Boil, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
- Remove pot from heat.
- Drain rice in strainer for 10 seconds.
- Return rice to pot.
- Cover pot, set aside, and let rice in covered pot for 10 minutes.
- Remove cover, fluff rice, and add salt to taste.
