Pizza Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 28 oz can San Marzano (or other roma) tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
- black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried basil (or 2 tsps fresh basil) (optional)
Instructions
- Place tomatoes and their liquid in medium mixing bowl.
- Crush tomatoes by hand or with masher until no chunks are left.
- Add oil, salt, and several grind of fresh pepper, as well as basil, if using. Combine.
Notes
Sauce can be frozen for use later. It tends to get watery with freezing and thawing.
