Chocolate Chip Cookies
Equipment
- Stand mixer with paddle attachment
- 3 baking sheets
Ingredients
- ½ pound unsalted cultured butter, softened (2 sticks)
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon fine salt
- 2 cups King Arthur unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375° F.
Prepare dough
- Place butter and sugars in mixer bowl and cream together.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating until well blended.
- Add baking soda and salt and beat together briefly.
- Add flour and beat together until ingredients combined.
- Add vanilla extract and beat together briefly.
- Add chips and beat together just to combine.
Bake
- Place teaspoon-size mounds of dough on ungreased baking sheets. On each baking sheet, place three rows, five deep.
- Bake for approx. 10 minutes, until lightly browned.
- Transfer to rack to cook.
