Sephardic Haroseth
Ingredients
- ½ cup almonds
- ½ cup raw pistachios, shelled
- 20 dried apricots (5 ounces)
- 10 dried black figs (2 1/2 ounces)
- 10 prunes (3 ounces)
- 10 pitted Medjool dates
Ingredients to toast
- 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
- 6 cloves garlic
- 4 pods green cardamon
- 2 tbsps white sesame seeds
Additional ingredients
- ½ cup pomegranate juice
- 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons fine salt
Instructions
- Toast almonds and set aside.
- Finely chop toasted almonds, pistachios, apricots, figs, prunes, and dates. Combine.
- Toast, separately, each of the following: peppercorns, garlic cloves, cardamom pods, and sesame seeds. Add to chopped ingredients.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Mix together.
- Serve.
