Cold Chili Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 package soft tofu
  • 3 small scallion, sliced into thin pieces
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (toasted if desired)

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons rice cooking wine (or mirin or sherry)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili fermented bean sauce (or sambal oelek or fried chili crisp)
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • teaspoon white pepper

Instructions

  • Cut tofu into pieces about 2" x ½" by ½".
  • Top with scallions and sesame seeds.
  • Spoon sauce over. Let sit at least 10 minutes before serving.
